§ Mr. ROWLANDSasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what course he intends to adopt in regard to persons who have paid the licence for their motor cars for twelve months and have had their supply of petrol stopped at the end of four 962W months; and will he consider the justice of returning them the two-thirds of the cost of their licence for the eight months they will be deprived of the use of their ears?
§ Mr. BONAR LAWI would refer to the reply on this subject given by me to the hon. Member for West Mayo on the 5th March last, and to the provisions of Clause 9 of the Finance Bill now before Parliament.
