§ Major MURRAYasked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether his attention has been drawn to the depredations of grey squirrels in localities where in recent years they have been introduced; and whether, in view of the increase in numbers of these pests, the damage caused by them in gardens, orchard, and plantations, and in the interests of the present and future timber supply of this country, he will consider the advisability of taking steps to see that their numbers are reduced?
§ Sir R. WINFREYThe Department have no information that the grey squirrel is doing exceptional damage in plantations, and if my hon. and gallant Friend has information on the subject, I shall be glad if he will send it to me.
