§ Mr. PETOasked the Prime Minister (1) whether, subject to expert opinion, a definite act of retaliation will be undertaken as soon as the resources of the Air Service admit of its execution without weakening our Air Service on the Western Front; and (2) whether, in deciding for or against a policy of retaliation for German air attacks on London, the Government will be guided only by military considerations, and not by sentimental, philosophical, or ethical considerations?
