asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies (1) as regards the latest financial year for which the information is available, what was the amount raised by the Australian Commonwealth Federal taxation of the capital unimproved value of land; what were the amounts raised by the State taxes on the capital unimproved value of land imposed by each of the six Australian States, respectively; (2) as regards the latest year for which the information is available, what was the amount raised by rating on the capital unimproved value of land in Sydney; what was the annual rate per £ on that capital unimproved value; whether in Sydney all rating is now on that basis, with houses and other improvements rate free; and (3) what was the amount raised by the New Zealand Dominion taxation of the capital unimproved value of land in the latest financial year for which the information is available?
