HC Deb 21 February 1917 vol 90 c1345W
Mr. P. WHITE

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether his attention has been called to a statement made by the President of the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries in Birmingham on Friday last wherein he foreshadowed larger powers for the acquisition of land for the purpose of allotments; and whether, whatever extended powers are conferred in this country, he will see that Ireland gets similar benefits?

Mr. DUKE

I have seen a copy of the statement referred to. Additional powers have been conferred on the Irish Department of Agriculture by an Order in Council dated the 16th instant, which I read to the House yesterday.
