HC Deb 26 April 1917 vol 92 c2595W
Mr. FIELD

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether he will consider the advisability of forming a wages board for Dublin City; and whether he is aware that there is a volume of public opinion in favour thereof?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

My right hon. Friend has asked me to answer this question. The question of extending the scope of the Trade Boards Act, for which legislation would be required, is engaging the careful attention of the Ministry of Labour, and inquiries are being undertaken in order to ascertain the actual conditions in trades to which the application of the Act has been suggested, including certain trades carried on in Dublin.
