HC Deb 26 April 1917 vol 92 c2606W
Mr. FLAVIN

asked the Minister of Munitions the number of persons at present employed in munition work in Ireland; and what steps, if any, have been or are being taken to increase the number so employed?

Mr. KELLAWAY

The total number of persons engaged in Government and controlled establishments in Ireland is approximately 35,000. In addition, there are the employés in uncontrolled establishments, in respect of whom complete statistics are not at present available. The desirability of utilising the resources of Ireland is borne constantly in mind whenever additional supplies of munitions have to be obtained.
