HC Deb 26 April 1917 vol 92 cc2600-1W
Mr. LOUGH

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether correspondence has been sent to him with regard to the case of Mr. Michael Curzon, aged thirty-nine, head of a furniture business with three branches in London, with whom an arrangement was made by the Central London Tribunal that if his brother joined he should not be called upon for military service, as his staff had practically all joined the Colours, and if he left the businesses must be closed; and whether, seeing that, not withstanding this arrangement, a notice has been served on Mr. Curzon calling him up on the 21st instant, he can arrange that the agreement made before the tribunal in this case shall be maintained?

Mr. MACPHERSON

Inquiries have been made and it has been ascertained that no case with reference to a man of the name of Michael Curzon has been decided by the Central Tribunal. If my right hon. Friend will supply particulars as to the address of this man and the tribunal by which his case was decided I will inquire further and inform my right hon. Friend of the result.
