§ Mr. WILESasked the Home Secretary if he is aware that seven constables of the Metropolitan Police stationed at His Majesty's dockyards, who had been found in possession of a quantity of goods taken from a ship, have been permitted to resign, which enables them to claim the superannuation deductions made from their pay, whereas the constables who attended in plain clothes a prohibited meeting of the Police Union have been dismissed, thus forfeiting all claim to these deductions, amounting in some cases to £30; and whether he proposes to take any action in regard to this difference in treatment in the interests of the service?
§ Mr. BRACEThe answer is in the negative. A claim for the return of superannuation deductions made by an officer permitted to resign on account of conduct involving moral turpitude would not be entertained.
