asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland (1) whether, with a view to the better and more economical enforcement of Regulations by the Local Government Board in regard to epidemic and infectious diseases in Ireland, he will introduce a Bill extending the provisions of the Public Health (Prevention and Treatment of Disease) Act, 1913, to Ireland; (2) whether, having regard to the representations of the medical profession in Ireland and the desirability of securing skilled treatment in cases of childbirth by properly qualified midwives, he will introduce a Bill for Ireland at an early date framed upon the lines of the English Midwives Act of 1902 and the Scottish Midwives Act of 1915?
