HC Deb 24 April 1917 vol 92 cc2245-6W
Mr. MacVEAGH

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland what steps the Treasury or Law authorities propose to take with reference to the recent conviction of an official in the Land Registry Offices, Dublin, for forgery; what is the number of original title deeds or documents which have been destroyed or missing; out of what fund it is proposed to make good the money stolen by this official; who is the head of the Department responsible for the want of proper supervision; and is it intended to hold an inquiry, so that a repetition of such offences may not occur?

Mr. DUKE

I am making inquiries with regard to the allegations in the question.
