HC Deb 19 April 1917 vol 92 c1883W
Mr. KING

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware that copies of a pamphlet on "Condemned Denominational Schools of London," by M. B. Adams, were seized at Birmingham last September, that the owner has been refused restitution of the same, and that the pamphlet has no bearing on the War; whether he has had a copy of this pamphlet brought to his notice; and whether he is in any way responsible for the suppression of the views therein expressed?

Mr. LEWIS

Neither I nor my right hon. Friend had seen or heard of this pamphlet till the hon. Member put his question on the Paper, and sent my right hon. Friend a copy; and we have no knowledge of the circumstances in which it was seized.
