§ Mr. WILSON-FOXasked the Prime Minister whether the Reconstruction Committee which was appointed by the late Prime Minister to advise the Government on the many national problems that will arise at the end of the War has been reconstructed; if so, if he will state the composition of the reconstructed Committee, and whether records were kept by the earlier Committee which are available for the purposes of the new Committee; whether, in view of the uncertainty and anxiety which exist in the public mind in regard to the state of the preparedness of the Empire for peace, he will indicate more precisely the nature and scope of the work of the Committee, and, in particular, if it includes the consideration of problems relating to the overseas territories of the Empire; whether any conclusions have been arrived at by the Committee; and, if so, if he is in a position to make any statement in regard to them?
§ Mr. BONAR LAWThe answer to the first and second parts of the question is in the affirmative. The composition of the Committee is as follows:
Generally the function of the Committee is to recommend to the Government the inquiries which should be made and the steps which should be taken in connection with the restoration of peace conditions.
