HC Deb 19 April 1917 vol 92 c1882W
Mr. O'SHEE

asked the Vice-President of the Department of Agriculture (Ireland) whether progress will be made with the Helvick fishery pier as soon as the spring cultivation of land is over; when does he anticipate the harbour will be completed; and whether motor fishing boats will be supplied and the local fishermen trained in their use?

Mr. DUKE

The works at Helvick Harbour will be carried out as soon as practicable. Owing to difficulties of the-weather and labour a date for the completion of the works cannot at present be stated. The local fishermen will have the-usual opportunities of acquiring and being instructed in the use of motor boats.
