§ Mr. DUKEThe conditions sanctioned by the Treasury for the payment of the war bonus to national school teachers are not correctly set forth in the question. The arrangements sanctioned, which have been duly carried out, are as follows: The bonus to be paid to men and women teachers who are in receipt of incomes not exceeding £2 a week at the rate of 4s. a week, and to men and women teachers who are in receipt of more than £2 but not more than £3 a week at the rate of 3s. a week; in the case of monastery and convent national schools paid on the capitation system a capitation Grant at the rate of 5s. per annum for each unit of the average daily attendance of pupils at such schools to be paid in respect of war bonus.
