§ Mr. EUGENE WASONasked how many Austrian and Hungarian women and children have been repatriated from this country since the outbreak of the War; and how many who are desirous of leaving still remain in this country?
Mr. SAMUELThe answer to the first part of the question is 1,930, of whom 1,450 were returning to Austria or Hungary. As regards the last part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to the answer which I gave last Wednesday to the hon. Member for North-East Bethnal Green. The position is the same as in the case of German women, except that no Austrian women are interned under the Defence of the Realm Regulations.
