Service Acts came into force?
§ Mr. PRETYMANI would refer the hon. and gallant Member to answers given by me to the hon. Members for Walsall and Wednesbury on the 24th and 19th October respectively, of which I am sending him copies. The engagement of women and of men of non-military age to replace the men who have gone to the Army was commenced by the Department long before the Military Service Acts came into force. About 1,200 men have joined the Forces from the Employment Department, and about the same number of women have been engaged during the War.
