§ Mr. BYRNEasked the Postmaster-General if he is aware of the dissatisfaction amongst the Dublin Post Office employés caused by the war bonus of 1s. 6d. which has been offered to them; if he has received an application for a war bonus of 5s. for those with less than £2 per week and 4s. for those between £2 and £3 per week; and if he will say what steps he intends to take to meet their demands?
§ Mr. J. PEASEThe increased war bonus recently granted to Post Office servants was authorised by the Government as part of a scheme of war bonuses for Civil servants generally. The Post Office servants have expressed dissatisfaction, and I have informed the National Joint Committee of Post Office Associations that if they will send me a written statement of their case I will consider whether I should lay it before my colleagues in the Government. It is not a matter which concerns the Post Office alone.
