§ Mr. JOWETTasked the Secretary of State for War whether women clerks employed at the War Office and Adastral House work a six-day week of forty-eight hours before being paid for any overtime, and that men clerks work a six-day week of only forty-two hours before being paid for overtime; and, if so, can he say what 570W are the physiological grounds relied on by the War Office to substantiate this reversal of the accepted opinion of the relative strength of men and women?
