HC Deb 12 October 1916 vol 86 c233W
Mr. OUTHWAITE

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether, in view of his statement that land rated on a value of about 3d. per acre is suitable for the settlement of discharged soldiers and sailors, he will take steps to have the deer forests and shooting moors made available for production in place of sport?

Mr. TENNANT

The land in question is, in my opinion, suitable for a scheme embracing afforestation as complementary to tillage and pasture. If additional land of similar quality can be had on similar terms I shall be glad to consider any offers.
