Sir H. DALZIELasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he can give the name of the official who represents the Board in connection with the overhauling of ships' gear at the wharf or wharves used by the Dutch steamers when lying in the Thames; and whether he has changed his name since the commencement of the War?
Mr. RUNCIMANThe surveyors working at the wharves mentioned in the question have not changed their names. What the right hon. Gentleman probably has in mind is the fact that one of the Board's London surveyors, whose parents and grandparents were British, but one of whose great-grandfathers was German, changed his name by deed poll in December, 1914.
