HC Deb 09 November 1916 vol 87 cc429-30W
Mr. ANDERSON

asked the President of the Local Government Board whether he has been asked to receive a deputation on the subject of resolutions passed by a private conference of representatives of local and appeal tribunals in Northumberland and Durnam; whether he is aware that these tribunals ask to be empowered to send medically rejected men to such industrial or agricultural work as they may be medically fit for; and whether he can state the attitude of his Department toward this suggestion?

Mr. LONG

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The subject to which the question refers is receiving careful consideration in connection with the scheme of substitution.
