§ Mr. LYNCHasked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether his attention has been called to prices ruling in country districts in Ireland, such as flour 3s. per stone, eggs 2s. 2d. per dozen, potatoes 1s. 2d. per stone, and sugar 7s. per stone; and whether, with a view to relieve consequent hardship, he will give his attention to the possibilities of productive industries in such districts and particularly in West Clare?
§ Mr. DUKESome of the commodities of which high selling prices are quoted are produced in the district. The Congested Districts Board will inquire into and consider any suggestion as to the starting of industries in the congested portion of the county; but it should be borne in mind that the Board cannot itself finance and conduct an industry.
