§ Commander WEDGWOODasked the Secretary of State for War whether the deaths from pneumonia arising in the Cannock Chase camps during last winter were above the average; whether he has heard complaints as to the condition of the hutments on Cannock Chase; and, if not, will he have an independent inquiry made into the housing conditions on the Chase before the winter comes on?
§ Mr. FORSTERAccording to the information in the possession of the Army Council there were only six deaths from October, 1915, to April, 1916—two in February, four in March. No complaints have reached the War Office as to the condition of the hutments on Cannock Chase.
