§ Mr. BYRNEasked the Secretary to the Treasury if he will state the amount of money paid in pensions to ex-Cabinet Ministers and other officers of the Crown in Great Britain and Ireland; if he will give the names of the persons in receipt of pensions of £500 per year and exceeding £500 per year, and the amount paid to each person; if he will give the names of those who refused to accept pensions during the period of the "War; and whether he will consider the desirability of withdrawing pensions exceeding £500 per year during the War?
§ Mr. MONTAGU:The latest information which can be given to the hon. Member in answer to the first and second parts of his question will be found in the Finance Accounts of the United Kingdom for 1914–15 (House of Commons 273, 1915) and in Vote 1 of Class VI. of the Civil Service Estimates for 1916–17 (House of Commons 26 vi.). As regards the third part, I have no information; the answer to the fourth part is in the negative.
