HC Deb 09 March 1916 vol 80 cc1739-40W
Mr. KING

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War how many horses have passed into the remount depot at Sandhill Park, Somerset; what percentage of these have died; what percentage have recovered after illness; what percentage, if any, have been sold as unfit for War Office service; and what percentage passed through this remount depot into Army service?

Mr. FORSTER

I am having the figures prepared, and will let my hon. Friend have them when complete. I might add that this is not an ordinary remount depot, but a convalescent horse depot to which horses are transferred from the veterinary hospitals.
