HC Deb 02 March 1916 vol 80 c1229W
Sir J. D. REES

asked the Secretary of State for India whether he can give the House any information regarding the assassination of Mr. Harding, district judge of Trichinopoli?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I regret to say that Mr. Harding, an Indian civilian, of nearly thirty years' service, was stabbed to death by an Indian on the 22nd February. The assassin was arrested, but the telegraphic report which I have received stated that the motive of the murder was not yet known. I am expecting further information.
