§ Mr. FFRENCHasked the Secretary to the Treasury whether he has seen communications from the Wexford and New Ross boards of guardians deprecating the action of pension officers who appear to be raising questions with a view to deprive old age pensioners who have sought and obtained admission to workhouse infirmaries of their pensions; whether he is aware that the purchasing value of the pension has been reduced 50 per cent., thereby driving pensioners into workhouse infirmaries; and if he will consider the advisability of suspending the poor relief disqualification provisions of the Old Age Pensions Act, which was framed for normal times, until the conclusion of the War?
Mr. McKINNON WOODI have not seen the communications referred to. I am afraid I can only refer the hon. Member to my reply to his previous question on Monday last.
