HC Deb 04 December 1916 vol 88 cc669-70W
Mr. SNOWDEN

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will have steps taken immediately to have released from military custody Thomas Ferguson, of 3, Woodcroft Terrace, Jordanhill, Glasgow, now with the 3rd Highland Light Infantry at Olympia Picture House, Edinburgh, who, on medical examination last September, was placed in C 3, and who, on calling at Bath Street recruiting office, Glasgow, on 10th November, to start on clerical work which had been promised him, was told to go to Edinburgh for his uniform, and on reaching the depot at Edinburgh was kidnapped and passed into the Infantry for active service; and, seeing that for the last fourteen months he has been unfit to do any kind of work, will proper steps be taken to punish the persons responsible for this outrage?

Mr. BYRNE

asked the Secretary for War whether, if he will cause instructions to be issued for the release of Private A.
