HC Deb 04 December 1916 vol 88 c674W
Sir GEORGE REID

asked whether a large number of houses in Belgrave Road, S.W., are about to be taken for public purposes; and, if so, will the occupants have full and reasonable notice and liberal treatment?

Mr. FORSTER

Thirty houses in Bel-grave Road are being taken for the purpose of providing accommodation for leave men from overseas passing through London. The occupants will receive as much notice as is possible consistently with military necessities, and they will be paid all reasonable loss sustained by the action of the War Department.
