§ Mr. BYRNEasked the Chief Secretary if he will call for and cause to be published a full report into and how Constable Frith met his death in Dublin in Easter week; if a court-martial will be held into the conduct of the officer in charge of the district during the rising in which Shore Street station is situate; and if he will cause the Report to be attached to the one made by Sir John Maxwell on the Dublin disturbances?
§ Mr. DUKEMy reply to the hon. Member's question of Wednesday last contains all that can definitely be concluded as to the circumstances attending the death of Constable Frith. I am informed that although the military were firing at Store Street barracks at the time there were also rebel snipers in the vicinity. It does not appear that the case is one capable of useful investigation by court-martial.
