§ Mr. FLAVINasked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether his attention has been called to the recent resolutions unanimously passed by the Cork County Council and other public bodies in Ireland in reference to Mr. Mansfield's reinstatement; and whether, in view of the whole circumstances, he will now close this dispute by the unconditional reinstatement of Mr. Mansfield without loss of salary or prestige?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe reinstatement of Mr. Mansfield is a matter solely within the province of the Commissioners of National1024W Education, and, although I wish that a final and friendly settlement could be brought about, I have no power to force my views upon the Commissioners.
