HC Deb 21 September 1915 vol 74 cc344-5W
Sir J. D. REES

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether any general steps are being taken to terminate competition between rate-run tramcars and private omnibus companies in London, Middlesex, and throughout the United Kingdom, wherever such conditions exist?

Mr. HAYES FISHER

The attention of my right hon. Friend, the President of the Local Government Board, has been drawn to the desirability of securing co-operation between these services in the Metropolitan area, and he hopes to be in a position to take some action in the matter at an early date. He could not, however, promise any action in a more extended area at the present time.
