§ The PRIME MINISTERThe function of the Committee of Imperial Defence is purely advisory. From time to time I nominate Committees of my colleagues, assisted as desirable by naval and military experts, to advise upon subjects involving the consideration of detail. One of these Committees is sometimes referred to as the War Council.
