§ Mr. BIRRELLJohn Goulding's claim was disallowed on the ground that his means exceeded the statutory limit. The estimate is based on the value of the benefits and privileges enjoyed by the claimant on a farm carrying seventeen cows which he had assigned to his son. Such benefits would appear to be worth more than £31 10s. per annum, even if the assignment of the farm was not made for the purpose of qualifying for a pension.
