HC Deb 04 May 1915 vol 71 c996W
Mr. ANDERSON

asked the Postmaster-General whether any men unfit for naval or military service, having applied for employment as night telephonists in the London telephone service since the 1st April, have been advised that there are no vacancies; and, if so, whether he will state the number of applicants who have, been so advised since the date specified?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

Nineteen men have been so advised; if suitable in respect of health and character, they can be given employment in other departments of the Post Office where male labour is more urgently required.
