§ Mr. SAMUEL SAMUELasked the Secretary to the Treasury whether he can see his way to pay the chemists under the National Insurance Act for the material supplied under the Act, such as drugs and appliances, in view of the hardship inflicted upon small traders, many of whom have not had any settlement since the Act came into operation; and will a settlement be made once a quarter at the very least?
§ Mr. MONTAGUI would refer the hon. Member to the reply given yesterday to the hon. Member for South Islington. It is not possible for insurance committees to effect a settlement more frequently than once a year. The regulations provide, 825W however, for very substantial payments on account at least once a quarter.
