§ Mr. TOUCHEasked the Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware that there is a general desire among the subordinate members of the Civil Service to subscribe towards the new War Loan upon the system in practice in many large commercial firms whereby the amounts are made up by periodical deductions from salary until the total sum is reached; and whether he is prepared to facilitate a 1010W scheme whereby the lower-paid members of the Civil Service may be enabled to do something to assist their country in the same way?
