§ Mr. FETHERSTONHAUGHasked the Chief Secretary if representations have been made to him that a revision of the rates of pay of warders and others in the service of the General Prisons Board in Ireland is necessary, having regard to the increase in the cost of living; what steps it is proposed to take in the matter; and will he say when the pay of these officials was last revised?
§ Mr. BIRRELLI would refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave on this subject to the hon. Member for North Westmeath on the 15th instant. The pay of Irish prison officials was last revised in 1908, when a series of substantial increases was effected.
