Mr. HARRY HOPE

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the serious effect of the present high prices for wheat and of the risk of Germany, either directly or through sympathisers, buying and holding up large quantities of the exportable surplus of wheat in the United States of America and in Argentina, the Govern- ment have bought or are buying wheat in those countries for exportation in order to relieve the situation here?
