HC Deb 21 December 1915 vol 77 cc204-5W
Mr. THOMAS

asked the Under-Secretary for War whether he is aware that, although the 1st Monmouthshire Regiment has been fighting in France for nearly a year, many of the men have not yet been allowed leave of absence; and whether he will arrange, before they are sent to any other place, that those men who have not had leave will be given an opportunity to visit their families and relatives?

Mr. TENNANT

I am not aware that this unit is likely to be moved. I must, however, remind my hon. Friend that units are liable in the public interest to be moved at short notice, and I fear that I can give no pledge that in such circumstances either officers or men who have not had leave will be given leave.
