§ Mr. WHITEHOUSEasked the President of the Board of Trade to what extent he has sanctioned the holding of race meetings in the future; and what are the conditions he requires to be observed?
Mr. RUNCIMANThe Board of Trade do not sanction the holding of race meetings, but I have informed the National Hunt Committee that no objection will be raised by the Government to the holding of a limited number of race meetings at certain specified places under National Hunt Rules subject to no demands being made upon the railways.
