asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office what were the numbers of directing staff and subordinate staff serving on 1st August, 1914, and 1st March, 1915, at Dover, Hamilton, and Hounslow, respectively.

The numbers serving in the pay offices referred to by the hon. Member on the 1st August, 1914, and 1st March, 1915, are as follows:—

All pay offices are now in course of inspection by the Inspector of Pay Offices, and any undue disproportion of staff will be remedied. Dover and Hamilton have not yet been visited.
