asked what was the consumption of rum in the Navy in 1914, and the average age of such rum?

Dr. MACNAMARA

The figures for the year 1914 are not complete, but during the year ending 1st July, 1914, the quantity of rum issued in the Navy was 421,230 gallons. The average age of the rum on issue is, so far as can be calculated, about eighteen months.
