HC Deb 25 November 1914 vol 68 cc1143-4W
EARL of RONALDSHAY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War if it is the intention of the War Office to place the wives of all soldiers under police supervision; if he has received representations from different societies objecting to such a proposal; and what are the reasons for issuing such an order?

Mr. BAKER

The expressed intention of the War Office is, not to place the wives of all soldiers under police supervision, but to convey a timely warning of the results of misconduct in cases in which the need for warning has become evident.
