§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEAs the hon. Member knows, the produce of particular taxes is, with trifling exceptions, not earmarked to particular items of expenditure. I may however mention that in the five years 1908–9 to 1913–14, inclusive, the new or increased taxes imposed by the Budget of 1909–10 yielded £111,175,000. In the same period additional expenditure (over the figures for 1908–9) has been incurred in respect of the following items, amongst other:—
