HC Deb 11 May 1914 vol 62 c739W
Mr. POINTER

asked the Postmaster-General whether it was intended that the recommendations of the Holt Committee in regard to increase of wages should take place on 2nd February; and, if so, whether he is aware that in the Southwestern district of London no increases have yet been paid, although the ordinary increments should have taken place on 1st April?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

It was not practicable actually to make the revised payments on the 2nd February, but arrears will be paid back to that date where that has not already been done. The district to which the hon. Member refers will be dealt with before the end of the week.
