HC Deb 11 May 1914 vol 62 c735W
Earl WINTERTON

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will make a statement, on the Colonial Office Vote, as to the proposed railway in British Guiana; and whether he will take into consideration the great potentialities which exist in that Colony, and which, owing to lack of transportation facilities, cannot be developed at the present time?

Mr. HARCOURT

I hope to be able to make a statement on the subject at a later date. The considerations alluded to in the latter part of the question are the main reason for the scheme and have not escaped my notice.
