§ Mr. LYNCHasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, when the Committee to consider the question of colour vision was being formed, the Board of Trade asked the Royal Society to place 54W Dr. Edridge Green on the Committee as representative of the Board of Trade?
Mr. ROBERTSONAs far as the records of the Board of Trade show what took place twenty-four years ago, it appears that the Board nominated Mr. Thomas Gray, the Assistant Secretary of the Marine Department, to represent them on a Committee appointed by the Royal Society to consider the question of colour blindness. On Mr. Gray's death the Board of Trade intimated that they did not desire to nominate an officer of the Department to take his place, but suggested that the Royal Society might consider the desirability of utilising the services of Dr. Edridge Green either as a member or as a witness. The Royal Society, however, do not appear to have adopted the suggestion.
