HC Deb 01 May 1914 vol 61 c2006W
Captain WARING

asked the Postmaster-General why Donald Boss, a post-man in Tomintoul, Banffshire, was re-moved from the service; whether it was owing to any fault; and, if not, will he take steps to have him reinstated?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

Donald Ross was employed as a part-time deliverer at Tomintoul with wages of 6s. a week. Under a revision his delivery was absorbed into a new full-time duty for an established postman, and as he had no claim to an established post, there was, I regret, no alternative but to dispense with his services. He was allowed to act as substitute on the new post until the vacancy was filled.
